Accomodation
You can stay and eat with us for free and you will be the only group. You will have your own bedroom with a double Kingsize bed, airco (much needed after a day of hiking!) and ensuite bathroom (European standards). We can add a single bed to the room if needed. Our food is always delicious after a day of hiking but do let us know if you have any preferences or dietary requirements. You will have your privacy and you will be able to quietly retreat as much as you want after a long day with many impressions and experiences. Of course, you are also welcome to use the common areas, including our small but very refreshing pool.
Research
If you are interested, you can also join me on expeditions where we put trap cameras in the jungle (or collect them). Data is used by Universities for their biodiversity studies.
River tours
At an additional cost, we can take you on a boat on the Bruneian river to spot wildlife like the Probiscus monkey, crocodiles and more. Even seeing the magnificent mangrove makes you feel you landed in a fairy tale - amazing!
Multi-day hikes and birding
Do you want to do longer hikes, prepare your food on a little stive and sleep in a hammock in the jungle? We can arrange this for you! Also, we can get you into touch with the #1 provider for specialised birding tours.
Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award
Do you want to do your Qualifying Journey for your DoE Gold Award by hiking through and sleeping in the Borneo Jungle? We can arrange the 4D3N trips as well as your Residential Prject. Form a team and reach out!
Choose your own direction. There will be no other guests, but you, and you will be supported by your English and Dutch-speaking guide.
Do you want to be hiking all day through challenging terrain, or would you rather do the morning only and go to the beach in the afternoon to make a fire and for some surf (season October - March)? Perhaps you would like to visit Kampong Ayer, the world's largest stilt settlement, and see how some of the local people live. There are many other things besides hiking that we can do. In consultation with you, we can customise your trip and hikes appropriate to your fitness level and needs. Previous guests ages ranged from six till 86 years old and everyone felt a sense of adventure and accomplishment!
