Our recent family trip to Brunei during the term break was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamlessly organised. Our private guide personally welcomed us at the airport with warmth and enthusiasm and made us immediately feel at ease. After giving us time to settle in, we went on a river tour through Brunei’s breathtaking waterways. It was an incredible experience - we encountered the remarkable proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, a huge monitor lizard, lots of beautiful birdlife, including hawks and kingfishers, and even an otter! Even though we had seen some of these animals in Sabah earlier in our holiday, the fact that we were alone on the river, without any other tourists, made this truly a special experience. Bring your binoculars but don't worry if you forget as we could borrow our guide's. The following day was even more spectacular. Our guide took us across the impressive bridge into the Temburong District, even the drive early morning with the beautiful sunrise was amazong. At Temburong we hiked through pristine rainforest landscapes, we were the only ones there, unbeleivable, especially the hike thorugh the reivers and creek and the waterfall at the end were amazing. Our 7 km jungle hike was perfectly paced - adventurous yet enjoyable for the whole family, as it did not include big hills. Our guide's preparation was exceptional; he ensured we had everything we needed, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the stunning surroundings without worry. What truly set this experience apart was our guide and his family. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality were outstanding. They went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our trip was smooth, enriching, and memorable. As a family, we left Brunei with incredible memories and a deep appreciation for the care and expertise our guide and his family provided. We couldn’t recommend them more highly

I’ve done jungle treks in different countries and continents, but my recent trip in Brunei was nothing short of spectacular. If you’re looking for a pristine, off-the-beaten-path jungle adventure, this is it! From the moment we were picked up, the organisation was excellent - Our private guide and his family are kind and will make you feel at ease. You can hang around the comon area and have a chat about the wildlife in Brunei and Borneo, or relax in your big room - they will give you your privacy. But the real magic began once we entered the rainforest. This is some of the last untouched rainforest in Southeast Asia and you truly feel like an explorer. Highlight was when we had to climb up a waterfall to continue our trek and our kids really like the many river crossings (although it was challenging at times). If you want a commercial, crowded trek, go elsewhere. But if you crave authentic, breathtaking wilderness and a team that treats you like family, book this now. Highly recommended!

We traveled through Borneo (Sabah, Kinabatangan River, Sepilok, and Kuching in Sarawak) but our visit to Brunei was absolutely a highlight. We felt very welcomed and we had much more privacy than we thought. But the jungle trekking was simply amazing, indeed, off-the-beaten track. We did several hikes already in Malaysia, but this was always on boardwalks and often also with others. Now it was just us with our private guide and there were no paths or trails most of the time, it was pure jungle trekking and we had to find our own pathway. It is exhausting though but our guide had lots of patience and adjusted the pace so we could all finish. My wife decided to rest in the afternoon but I, and so was our guide, was keen to do more trekking in the afternoon. So together we went for another hike and we saw a beautiful waterfall (after having climbed some tough hills). We also saw silver langurs in the jungle which was amazing but I was properly tired in the evening. The homemade Spagetti Bolognese tasted exceptionally well and it was well deserved. Early morning on Sunday we went on a boat tour over the river and it was amazing. No other boats like in Sabah, just us and the mangrove was spectacular. We saw probiscus monkeys and crocodiles and many birds. In the evening we did a night walk. We did not see much initially but it was still a great experience walking through the jungle when it is dark. But then, after an hour or so, we saw a tarsier! Only for 30 seconds or so and then it jumped away, but well worth it. A great weekend. I wish we could have stayed one or two days longer as I would like to have done some more jungle hikes and also would have liked to go to the beach. But he, if we ever go back to Borneo, we will definitely return to Brunei and stay with our guide and his family again!

We were welcomed at the airport and felt at ease immediately. Our bedroom at the house was spacious, we had our own bathroom and airco. We have hiked in many countries around the world, but hiking in Brunei is now at the top of our favourites. Thanks to the professional and especially enthusiastic guidance of our private guide, we had a proper adventure - finding our own path through unspoiled jungle, The jungle hike was intense at times, but then we would arrive at an amazing waterfall where we could have a shower which made it all more than worth it. We asked for an adventurous hike as we are quite experienced, well, this is what we got! The first day we had to walk through rivers and creeks, climb hills, climb over or crawl under fallen trees and free ourselves occasionally from the ratan. We loved it and we did not see a single person during our two days of hiking! The second day we did a different route which was awesome as well. There were some tough climbs and it was hot and humid, but the two waterfalls in the middle of nowhere were absolutely amazing. After the hikes it was lovely to go back to the house. We were very well looked after and felt totally at home. It was great speaking about the many animals they had encountered over the years but also to rest, when we wanted, in some well-deserved airco! I can sincerely recommend everyone to book a couple of days when travelling through Borneo. This is one of a kind!
